The U21 winners: Svenja Weger (GER) and Mitchell Kennedy (AUS)
Svenja Weger (GER - Laser Radial girls) and Mitchell Kennedy (AUS - Laser Standard boys) are the U21 World Champions.
There was only one Final race sailed in a very light east-southeast wind on tha last day of the Groupama-OTP Balaton Laser Worlds. The wind strength was very close to the lower accaptable limit but 5.2 knots. The race was started after a postponement on shore. After the finish of the different groups the wind became to light again to start another race.
In the U21 Laser Standard World Championship the leader after the Qualification Series got his second whistle at the beginning of the first but only Final race. This way Tadeusz Kubiak from Szczecin, Poland had a DNF which could not be discarded. He fall back on the total list from the first place to 12th.
Mitchell Kennedy from Australia won the last race and the gold medal. Second and European Champion Hermann Tomasgaard from Norway. The U19 winner is Theodor Bauer from Germany.
In the U21 Laser Radial girls Svenja Weger crowned her impressive weekly performance by a win on the first and only Final race so she won the World and European champion title with a safe margin.
